[程序员] 机械硬盘当存储仓库应该如何选择文件存储方法？

大佬们，我有一堆也不知道还有没有用的文件，但是害怕删了以后要用。包含大文件、很多小文件等等。我想买个机械硬盘，全存进去，但是机械硬盘性能一般，我是不是用 [储存压缩] 的压缩率，压缩成一个压缩包，再复制进去，比较快。但是我希望能方便的检索文件名，就像 everything 那样。有无更好的方法？

有个方法是，存之前，用 ls 把文件名都记录下来，不知道有无更好的方法
